I want to apply for an apartment but they need a 625 credit score. I lost my job for a few months and am now behind on two accounts.
My credit score is 597. I can bring the accounts current in less than three weeks but will just that be enough to raise my score those 28 points? I don’t want to waste my application fee just to get rejected.

I was recently terminated from my job in July and am having difficulty finding a new one, but in the meantime I have about $25K in credit card debt and not able to make payments. A credit counselor suggested bankruptcy, but I know the consequences of such action. However, without a job I have no money and I do plan to get one as soon as possible. So please don’t tell me to get a job, I already know that and doing everything I can by applying for many different positions. But given my current situation, is bankruptcy my only choice and is it better to do when you are unemployed or have a job? I have also already tried to contact the creditors to negotiate the terms, but no luck since my credit is in such bad shape. Any suggestions?
I forgot to add something…will filing bankruptcy hurt my chances of getting hired for another job?

I would like to know what you all think about people getting jobs judged on their credit. There are many reasons that a credit can go bad example: sick family member,divorce, injury,ID theft even people are finding that bringing proof and explainations to these doesn’t help get the job. I can see back ground checks for criminal acts but a credit report come on world get a life

On my credit report I seen a entry of a electric company I currently use. Anyhow I called them they had no record of it. Put me on 3way with the collection agency they have no record of it. Finnaly after calling there corporate office I was told to call a number and tell them to delete it from my report. OK first I think this should be there job it was there mistake that is costing me. But I called it was got a recording saying they have another number to call for a nationwide directory and it was going to cost 5.49 a min. I was like no way im going to call that . So who do I call?

I have really poor (like a score of 520) credit that I established when I was like 18 and 19 years old, I am now 26 and I want to get a small loan for like $5,000.00-$10,000.00 to pay off some of my debt and get caught up on my bills. I am a single mother of 2 and I need to figure something out. I have been at the same job for 2 years so it’s not like I am just sitting on my butt trying to get money. Are there any legit companies out there that will help me out with getting a loan? I would appreciate any advice that is given.

I had a creditor to take me to magistrate court on an unpaid furniture debt. After some years later, they garnished my wages. I left that job and found a new one. Since that time (about 7 years now), they have been continuously pulling my credit report. When they do, it shows as a hard inquiry which lowers my score. Is this legal?
