I heard on some commercial that a bad credit score can keep you from getting a loan, a car, and a job? How is this possible? Why wouldn’t someone hire you because of your credit score?

Hi, I moved from Europe to the US 2 years ago. Just tried to buy a house. Unfortunately i had no credit history in the US. Therefore i did my best to get a credit card to get a credit score (which i did 4 months ago). I now have a credit score of 653. Look quite bad no? Is it a bad score because my credit card is too recent?

Hi. I recently just got my first credit card ever and used it to make a $1600 purchase. The credit limit is $3000, so obviously I’m over 50% of the balance, and I just learned that’s bad for credit scores. I expect to be able to pay off the purchase in the next two or three months. Will my credit score go back up immediately after I get the balance on my card down, or will it take a while? Thanks.

Most of my debt consists of medical bill leftovers (the amount after insurance) that has gone to collection. I have not seen anything that deals with those types of bad credit. They say medical is not supposed to affect your credit but it does.

My credit is around 570. I would like to increase it, but I was wondering what the cut off between “bad” & “not so bad, sorta fair” credit was, as I am planning on applying for a card to increase my score RESPONSIBLY. After paying off all of my debt ( which made me feel GREAT!!!), I need to rebuild my credit.

I have really learned my lesson all this damage was done when I turned 18 I went crazy but I have been suffuring the consequenses since then I am now 25 and know how important it is to have good credit I am trying to rebuild it now is getting a secured credit card helpful to me in having a revolving account does that really help?
