What kind of Documents, should I ask for, when a collection agency is suing me for a credit card debt?

    By CreditWiz | November 5, 2009

    haydu_computer questioned:

The attorney literally sent the back of a credit card agreement, no signature. The Revision Date is from 1999, but, the account was open in 1996…. I need to question this clown to provide some evidence that the debt is mine. I need to question him to prove the amount as well.

hi…. question for copies of the entire original document… also question how many times the credit card company increased your credit line without you requesting the increase… I would suggest you speak to a credit counselor in your community,, it is free,, call the BBB and they can give you reference people at one of these agencies… excellent luck

The collection agency needs to show you that he debt is yours and that your signature exists in the agreement. Call his bluff. I will bet you will win. At the same time check your credit score. Write to the three credit bureau’s to investigate this. Send your letters certified with return receipt. For examples of these letters go to ftc.gov search for identity fraud
