I mean i heard after 6 years ur debt is wiped out, does that mean i can take another card or mortage or something? even if the debt is still there? i mean even if i owe the outstanding debt will my credit rating be clean again after 6 years? & does that mean it wont effect my credit rating?

Its 7 years and yes, it may be removed from your credit report. Just write a letter to them to get it removed. You still owe the money and the creditor can try to collect but it will no longer be in your credit report. It is because the Bible tells us to remove a person’s debt after 7 years. Jesus tells us not to hold debt against a person forever but he also tells us to longer borrow after a failed loan. So be wiser after 7 years. Good luck.

No, your debt will still be there if you still owe it. And your credit score will still not be good if you find that you still have the debt. You will also find that there may be a bill collector in your future.

Your best bet is to get a copy of your credit report, find out who it is you owe, if you don’t know already, and pay up or make arrangements to pay up.

The only thing that goes away, is a chapter 13, and that is after 7 years. A chapter 7 bk goes away after 10 years.

The debt itself is not necessarily eliminated. The RECORD of it may eventually age off of the credit report. Its two different things.

No. It takes 7 years, not 6. Also, it only comes off your credit report; you continue to owe the money.

I heard it is wiped out after 5 years but even if it is cleaned after a year, you should be bothered by your conscience. What you owed must be paid. What have you used your credit card for? You spent money that you did not possess and now you want to get away with it? Where is justice for that?

Unless you have really good connections with someone at each of the three credit bereaus, information cannot be wiped off of your credit report.
