I disputed some items on my credit report to experian. Do I have to contact the other two credit reporting agencies to dispute the same items?

Absolutely; it may or may not have made it onto the other bureaus, but it would eventually; the info source may have already reported the incorrect data to the other two bureaus……whenever you address something on one, always address all three just to be safe.

Yes you have to contact each one seperatly. And it may take a few times in writing for them to finally correct the error. Just keep on them and they will. Good luck…

If you have a copy of your credit report it will advise you as to the reporting service that is reporting the information. Sometimes only one is reporting, other times two, and other times all three. It would be best to report it to all three, but, sometimes that could back fire as if they don’t have the information to begin with it hasn’t effected your score. I would first send it to the bureau that reported it and get it straight with them first, but if all three have reported it you need to send the dispute to all three. You need to have a good explanation and proof as to why you are disputing the item, in order to get it removed. I have found it best to handle it directly with the creditor as it you can prove it to them they will remove it themselves at the bureaus.
