What should I do if Experian ignores my request for an investigation of an item on my credit report?

I ordered a copy of my credit report a few months ago and saw an inaccuracy. I notified Experian immediately by letter and I received no response. 45 days later, I sent another letter certified mail with return receipt. It has been a month since I did that and, still, no response. What are my options?

Once they recieve a dispute, they contact the creditors and the creditors have x amount of days to look into the dispute and report back to the credit reporting agency….You may want to wait awhile, and pull your credit again to see if anything has been done. If not, contact Experian again…
Word to the wise though, some creditors report to all three agencies, so you may want to check your Transunion and Equifax reports also to see if they are accurate.
They have phone numbers. See site below.
Complain to the FTC. The phone number is in the thing listing your rights that came with the report.
Per the Fair Credit Reporting Act they have 30 days to validate the entry or they have to remove it…From what you describe they have go over this time period.
I’d send another certified letter with the proof of when your original request was sent, stating: “This entry has not been validated within the time period allowed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Per this law I am requesting that this entry be removed.”
Send it registered mail so you have a return receipt and
then they have 30 days to respond or you can sue them
1,000.00. Don’t forge the other two because they might
have the same mistake.
